Technical Overview
VELON-G™ is a breakthrough metamaterial canopy system combining graphene nanoplatelets with indium tin oxide (ITO) in a volumetric nanocomposite architecture. Unlike conventional surface treatments, VELON-G™ provides electromagnetic signature management while maintaining optical transparency for fighter aircraft canopy applications.
The graphene-ITO nanocomposite achieves -13.3 dB attenuation at W-band frequencies (94.48 GHz) while preserving 92.5% optical transparency across the visible spectrum, enabling pilots to maintain full situational awareness.
Key Advantages
- Multi-spectral signature management (radar, infrared, visible)
- ISS/JAXA-Kibo space validated (Experiment ID 8071)
- Structural integration capability
- ITAR-free UK origin enabling direct export
Key Distinction
VELON-G™ is a volumetric metamaterial canopy—not a surface treatment. The technology is integrated throughout the canopy structure rather than applied as a surface layer. This fundamental difference enables superior electromagnetic performance while maintaining structural integrity and optical clarity.
Metamaterial Technology
Advanced nanocomposite architecture for next-generation signature management
Graphene Nanoplatelets
High-purity graphene nanoplatelets provide exceptional electromagnetic absorption while maintaining optical transparency through precise thickness control.
ITO Nanocomposite
Indium tin oxide integration enables tuneable electromagnetic properties while preserving the optical transparency essential for canopy applications.
Volumetric Architecture
Three-dimensional metamaterial structure distributed throughout the canopy volume, providing consistent performance across the entire optical aperture.
